Acas reveals latest Stats and releases new Agency Worker Guidance

Acas has published its most recent quarterly statistics, covering nine months between April 2017 and December 2017.

 

Key points:

  • Between the start of April 2017 and the end of July 2017, Acas received around 1,700 notifications per week. Since the Supreme Court ruling on Employment Tribunal Fees, this has risen to around 2,200 notifications per week.

  • Early Conciliation succeeded in 17% of cases. Of the balance, 26% progressed to a tribunal and 58% did not.

  • Of those that proceeded to tribunal, 21% subsequently settled via a COT3 agreement, 5% were withdrawn by the Claimant, 7% have been determined by a tribunal and 67% remain outstanding.

 

AW Guidance:

By 2020 there will be around one million agency workers in the UK*. 

They have launched new guidance to help workers and employers know their rights and responsibilities.
